  • Great Luxury Sports Coupe - 2004 Toyota Camry Solara

Purchased the SLE V6 3 months ago, and loving it thus far. The car is very refined, quiet and responsive. The stereo has a very full deep sound which is highlighted because the exterior noise level is low. Steering is light but responsive. I have not had any problems yet and dont expect to experience major issues as Im banking on Toyotas reputation on build quality and reliability. I highly recommend this vehicle for those looking for something sporty but refined (without having to break the bank). Gas mileage is not great and it really needs premium gas. Toyota manual indicates regular gas, but for improved performance, a higher grade can be used. Truth is premium is required.

Purchased new 2004 Solara SE Sport on 9/4/03. From day one, car pulls left and tire pressure warning light is always on. Have taken to dealership 5 times, they have opened a case with Toyota Technical, and still unable to fix. Am developing quite a few muscles holding this car on the road. Have discovered numerous reviews on the internet stating the same problems with this car. Very nice looking car if they could make it go straight.

I drive a lot with my job and spend a lot of time in the car. I love my Solara-I would highly recommend it. I would recommend that you get the electric passenger sear, the mannual is a pain.

First of all, owning the new bodystyle solara has been a quite big difference than the other mid-size cars Im typically use to. Its built stronger and rides much better than other cars in its price range, but the horsepower needs much improvements for its price. The car is beautiful once you add the right rims to it, but otherwise boring looking without them. The car furthermore caters to an older (30-40) traditional type driver verses a younger more enthusiatic sports tuned driver. On a whole, the car is very nice to drive and has a lot of room to offer for a family of five to fit comfortably without any cramping in the back.

  • Beautiful car! - 2004 Toyota Camry Solara

This is a beautiful car, outstanding quality, beautiful interior, and quiet as a kitten. The JBL sound system is superb. It handles beautifully and is a blast to drive. Many have asked if it were a Lexus. All things considered, its the best car I have ever owned.

  • Great car with persistent problems - 2004 Toyota Camry Solara

This car was purchased as an upgrade to a well loved and much abused Toyota Paseo in December 2003. For the first 4 months it was a dream car. Lots of pep, Lexus-like interior, and an attention grabbing exterior. But then the problems started. So far the traction control system has failed twice, the sun roof has recently stopped working properly, and a component in the rear suspension has come loose and is rattling around like a ping pong ball. This is definitely not the quality I expect from Toyota!

  • A few things to consider - 2004 Toyota Camry Solara

In Toyotas infinite wisdom, they have preprogrammed the maintenance light to come on and stay ON at certain mileage points. You must have it reset by your dealership despite the fact you may have just changed the oil. I only have 5,000 miles on this car and changed the oil at 3,000 miles. It feels very manipulative.

  • great car- bad vision out of rear - 2004 Toyota Camry Solara

Beautiful, nice handling, plenty of power except for pea headed power hungry males( I am a male). Rear view through mirrors is absolutely miserable- and head restraints are supposedly not removable. Would call the car a lemon design because of the latter. Not safe. The insurance institutes will figure that out quickly. The company has not responded to my rquests for info on changing the rear seats.

I love my four wheels motorcycle, because thats how i feel my new convertible. Very nice ride, sleek, pimping look, specially when the top is down, looks way "different from any other convertible, roomy, the only con I can tell about it is the blind sptots are really blind, cant see a thing in the bck when backing up.

  • Shiney new Black head turner - 2004 Toyota Camry Solara

Too new to know about reliability, but the styling, the quiet drive is wonderful so far. A real head-turner w/the top down.
